When UD became Diageo in 1997, the company decided to get out of bourbon making (until recently) so they sold Bernheim to Heaven Hill in 1999.

And yes, despite getting out of bourbon making at the time, Diageo still kept the Bulleit and IW Harper brands, Stitzel-Weller, and George Dickel.Erichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13215982348779717643noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1506238478350135756.post-40601856283671853962013-02-21T07:23:26.489-05:002013-02-21T07:23:26.489-05:00Thanks. In my first post I started to explain that I am writing this mainly to chronicle and preserve my experiences tasting through a pretty decent American whiskey hoard. Along with this, I like to obsess over who really made what and how (original distillery, mashbill, aging, etc); this stuff is hard to find and I think its good to aggregate and share this info. Only a few of the current blogs (ones I like and have on my sidebar for example) go beyond the regurgitation of press releases. I hope to do the sameRyan Connollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04926999824540595625noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1506238478350135756.post-70132320086716689362013-02-21T07:22:16.481-05:002013-02-21T07:22:16.481-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Ryan Connollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04926999824540595625noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1506238478350135756.post-70277308258598688152013-02-21T07:21:19.030-05:002013-02-21T07:21:19.030-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Ryan Connollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04926999824540595625noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1506238478350135756.post-61596919673029529692013-02-21T00:42:00.188-05:002013-02-21T00:42:00.188-05:00Hi Ryan,

I was wondering what made you start one yourself, and what different perspectives you hope to bring.

Thanks,
NAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
